MaBayn is a budgeting app that keeps your financial records on your own device. This notice explains exactly what stays with you, what little we or our service providers receive, and why.

Your financial records stay on your device

Everything you enter in the app — transactions, budgets, commitments, debts, goals, notes and settings — is saved in your browser’s storage on your own device. We never receive it. There is no MaBayn account and no MaBayn server holding your figures, so we cannot see, share or sell them — and we cannot recover them for you if they are lost. A backup file you export is a plain file you own and control.

What we, or services we use, do receive

Separate from your financial records, a few things do leave your device:

• Waitlist sign-ups. If you join the waitlist, we receive your email address, the countries you select and your optional answer. They are stored by Netlify, our website host, and used only to contact you about MaBayn.
• Purchases. MaBayn Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email, billing country and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your email and order details; we never see your card number.
• Licence checks. When you activate MaBayn Pro, and occasionally afterwards, the app sends your licence key and a device label (for example “MaBayn · iPhone”) to Lemon Squeezy’s licence service to confirm the licence is valid.
• Exchange rates. The app downloads rates from open.er-api.com, with currency-api on jsDelivr as a backup. Like any website, these services see your device’s IP address when it asks for rates. No financial data is sent.
• Fonts and hosting. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and the site is served by Netlify. Both receive standard technical request data such as IP address and browser type.

We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices

• Erase everything on a device from Save, export & import → Erase everything.
• Ask us to delete your waitlist details by emailing orders.mabayn@gmail.com.
• For purchase records, contact us or Lemon Squeezy.

Keeping your data safe

Because your records live only on your device, a lost phone or a cleared browser can erase them — and on iPhone, Safari can clear storage for sites that aren’t added to the Home Screen. Export a backup regularly and keep it somewhere safe; you can restore it on any device.
